"The greatest gift we have to offer God is our weakness. When we know that we cannot provide what is needed, then He is free to occupy center stage.. We just step out of the way and let Him work. And, He does!"- December 4, 200 This Day With the Master
I've been waiting for everything to fall into place in my life, to somehow have enough time to do everything I want and need to do. Yet, it doesn't seem to happen. And, everyday that goes by that I am not setting my priorities straight, I feel this nagging feeling that there is more. So, last night at 5:30, I finally gave up, sat down, & spent some time in prayer and devotion. 2 Cor. says, "My strength is made perfect in weakness." Sigh. "I would rather boast in my infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Jesus came to earth as a baby, the weakest, most vulnerable thing alive. A baby needs everything to be done for him. He cannot do anything on his own. Jesus is the greatest example of what God wants from us. He wants us to totally, completely admit our weaknesses and vulnerability to Him...and surrender, allowing Him to take care of us. Oh, and He will!
Lord, I give up. I surrender my whole life, body, soul, will to You, trusting You to take care of me. You know who I am, who I long to be & yet You love me. Wow! How awesome. Help me to focus on your choosing to be totally vulnerable in this world this Christmas. Help me to do the same.
