Go Bananas...

Are any of you experiencing the winter, post-holiday season blues? If so, this amazing SUPER FRUIT may be exactly what you need! For a quick pick-me-up....grab a banana. Not only do bananas help you think faster, but they help you think happier thoughts, too. Isn't it amazing how God has created things for us to enjoy and to even help our moods!?!

Mind, Body, and Soul Fruit
Eating a banana a day may help your brain cells communicate better and enhance the effects of feel-good neurotransmitters, such as serotonin. Antioxidant-rich bananas are also a great source of vitamin B6, a nutrient credited with helping guard against Parkinson’s disease. (Find out why a banana perks up your brain better than a chunk of cheese.) Read tip here

Here's a great Cocoa Banana Soy Recipe:
1 banana
1/2 cup silken tofu
1/2 cup soymilk
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon honey

Directions:
1. Slice banana and freeze until firm. Blend tofu, soymilk, cocoa and honey in a blender until smooth.
2. With the motor running, add the banana slices through the hole in the lid and continue to puree until smooth.

This is a great breakfast to ward off hunger because it is protein packed!!

Your banana smoothie sounds like it is very healthy & tastey. Tofu & soymilk have tons of antioxidants. The only problem is I'm allergic to bananas. I really like the taste, but I always get sick to my stomach after I eat one.
I'm going to try your recipe, but substitute strawberries or blueberries.

Hey! That's a great idea! I'm not allergic to bananas...but... I like them only on their own or in cereal...[I'm a banana purist perhaps?]
But a strawberry smoothie sounds great. Let me know when you make yours Mom, and I'll come by and drink the leftover that doesn't fit in your glass :)
Thanks, Heather! Your recipe posting may result in a smoothie for me :) :)

You girls are too funny! Enjoy your strawberry smoothies! I don't really like bananas in any other form except on cereal or in a smoothie. I don't care for eating a banana plain!

By the way...the run was great. We were racing against the wind and snow, but it was quite an accomplishment for an Arizona girl. The windchill was 5 degrees!
