Week 4 Check-in

Lap one is coming to an end! Lap two starts February 16th(Date change)! My initial thought was to keep going, try and "blog ahead" for you all while I am in Arizona, but my better judgement says that we need to take two weeks off and re-start after I get back! Now is the time to invite your friends (male or female) to join the challenge with us for lap two!

To keep the accountability going, keep blogging...I will be...from Arizona! Don't stop eating right and exercising!
Please e-mail me with any questions or "emergency moments" at: healthymahma@gmail.com.
During these two weeks "off", rethink your health challenge goals and if you want to change any of your goals, just sign up again with your new challenge goals...I will delete your old entry!

I have gotten some great ideas from you about what I need to blog about, what would really be helpful to you! Please keep the ideas coming!!
Now, for the check-in:
1. Tell us a victory this week or over the last four weeks
2. How much weight have you lost during these four weeks? Or, how have you met your health challenge goals?
3. What are some things you will do during the two week "break" to keep working toward your goals?
4. Who are you going to invite to join you in lap four?
I am praying for each one of you!! Keep enjoying the journey this week!

well, I am shocked I am the first to post this week!
1. Tell us a victory this week or over the last four weeks: A victory for me was not giving in just because I could! at work there was cake but i didn't need it so really why eat it! Just because it is there isn't a reason to eat!
2. How much weight have you lost during these four weeks? Or, how have you met your health challenge goals? Last week I weighed 178 and today I weighed 175lbs I lost 3 lbs this week! For a total of 11lbs since week! My goal is 124 by February 28th and I am well on my way to it!
3. What are some things you will do during the two week "break" to keep working toward your goals? Definitely striclty counting my points and I am still going to post my weight every Wednesday! I will also be absolutely journaling everything I put into my mouth!
4. Who are you going to invite to join you in lap four? I have asked my husband and I am really going to get Piper from my mom's group to join! I am very sad I will miss meeting you all Friday! I hope I get the chance soon!

Yay, Bobbie!! Congrats on your weight loss! I will definitely be weighing in from AZ every Wednesday also...although, I remember that my parents' scale is different from mine...maybe they bought a new one! :) I wanted to take the two weeks "off", though, so that if I happen to miss a post for a day or two, it won't be such a big deal! Anyways....

1. A victory this week...I was feeling SO depressed yesterday. After I put Isaiah down for a nap, I went to the kitchen, opened the cabinet door and was ready to eat everything in sight. There was a check in my heart and I knew what I really needed was to sit and spend some time with the Lord. I did and felt so much better. I still ate more than I would have liked before that moment, but I knew I didn't NEED to keep eating! And, what I snacked on wasn't that bad...just alot of carbs! (I figured out a long time ago NOT to keep junk on hand, just in case!)

A victory over the last four weeks has been to start using weights...mostly here at home, but some at the Y. Slowly I am getting into it! I have LOVED posting and reading your posts daily, girls! What fun that has been!

2. I lost most of my weight in the Biggest Loser Challenge last time (12 lbs.); This time, I lost 3 pounds...one more this week, which brings me to 121. I am happy here. I just don't want to gain anything back, which is why doing this challenge is so good for me....it reminds me that it isn't a one time weight loss, but a continual healthy lifestyle!!

3. I am going to keep exercising and eating lots of fruits and veggies, lean meats, and complex carbs...of course, drinking my soy protein!

I am going to do some research for the blogs for lap four....I think we are going to focus on a kitchen and fast food makeover. If any of you have some great ideas, let me know!!

Bobbie- We will have a "Healthy Party" in lap four, too, everyone can all meet each other!!

4. I am inviting my hubby and he said he is going to do it. He bought a box of Nutty Bars last Friday because he figured he wasn't going to eat them for a long time becuase I was "Making Him" do the challenge!! :) Hehe!!
I am also inviting all of my teacher friends from the Y!

I love you all!! I continue to pray for each one of you daily...more than once! I totally believe that God wants us to be healthy and love the bodies He has given us! Remember...All things are possible through HIM, whatever the task ahead!!!

Wow, this was way long!!

My victory for the week was getting to the Y four days in a row. I worked out pretty hard for 3 days, and on Sunday I just walked on the treadmill for 45 min.

My victory contributed to my weight this morning. I lost 2lbs. this week, a total of 3lbs. during Lap 1. I'm now at 183.

I'm not going to do anything different during the 2 week break. I don't really feel that deprived. If I want a treat (like cake at Joe to Go) I have a small piece and stop. My main goal is to exercise as often as I can. That is the key to my having any success in losing lbs. Plus I feel so much better. I'll weight in every Wed. too. I like to accountability.

Unfortunately, I can't think of anyone to invite to the challenge in Lap 2.

Hi Ladies,
LOOK AT ALL THIS BEAUTIFUL WHITE SNOW. it would be nice to just look but there's reality and we have places to go like work :)
Well my victory this week has been packing my lunch and bringing healthy snacks like these really good Jonathon Gold apples I got at IGA in Struthers. I have lost 3 pounds this time around. I'm at 125 but still feel so far from looking the way I want to. During the break, I will comtinue to get to my exercise goals to form better habits. They say 21 days makes a habit so I really need to push through being tired. I tell myself that Haley will sleep through the night at some point. I knoww she will and when she does I'll probably miss seeing her beautiful smile at 3am. My husband is going to join the challenge next time. I'm still working on my sister too.
Everyone is doing so great. Keep it up!! I'll see some of you Friday and others Sunday.
Hey Ladies who don't already come to Glenwood Christian Fellowship, we'd love to have you. we are having a Kid Friendly SOUPER BOWL Party Sunday at 6. The more the merrier

AMY!!!! Where do you live? I live in Struthers! If you are close we shoudl try to set up some play time for kids and workout time for us! Even if it is just workout videos! I have a pilates one with a great aerobics session! Let me know! When the weather breaks we can stroll down to Mauthe park and let the kiddos play and then stroll home do a healthy picnic there!

Ok so I am a day late on this, sorry.

Ok, well I think my original post said 133 lbs. I don't know where that weight came from. I am normally 136 and that is what I was today when I weighed myself. We went grocery shopping last week and we bought some healthier items. So I was proud of that. I have also been making better homemade dinners, not just quicky ones. I have invited my sister to join, but she has dial up so I don't know if she will or not.

Great job ladies on all you have done!! Way to go Bobbie!!

Bobbie I live on 9th St by the elementary school. A picnic sounds great not only because those are usually when the sun is out :)

Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry I'm 2 days late with posting, it's been a bad week.
My friend lost her battle with brain cancer on Tuesday and weight loss/healthy eating has been on the back burner for the past few days.
That being said, I lost no weight this entire challenge, I had zero victories this week (I ate like food was leaving the planet!) and I can't say I had a any major victories over the past 4 weeks. My goal for the two week break is to get my head back on right. I need to get back to the gym to run, stop eating everything in sight, account for my calories, and make healthier, wiser choices. I'm also going to try to get my husband and mom to join the next challenge.
I'm sorry this sounds so defeatist; I'm really going to have a better lap 4. Good luck to all of you!
Oh, and I won't be able to meet on Friday, but I hope you have a great time, and I'm looking forward to meeting you all another time.

Amy! I live right on the corner of Maplewood Ave and 8th street! I literally walk a block and the elementary school is there! We usually walk down in nice weather after school is over and let Gary play on the Jungle gyms and such! We definitely need to get together! The kiddos have been sick this week and I am just stressed so what am I doing! EATING whatever I want!

Erin-
We love you and I am proud of yoU! You still look great! I am praying for you guys and Christina's family. Please don't beat yourself up about not eating the way you'd like. Look at how much weight you lost last time around!
It hasn't helped anything that I have been SO unmotivated to get up early and exercise, either! It really helps to have one another's support at the Y!
Once I get back from AZ I hope to get back into our 3-day routine!!
Love you!!!

Erin- Sorry for your loss and you really shouldn't feel bad for eating bad things if it makes you feel better even for a second. There are worse things that people do to cope in difficult times than overeat a little. You'll get back on track. I really look forward to meeting you next time.
Bobbie-I am literally a block up from you. I'm on 9th and Maplewood. I've probably seen you at the school. Look forward to meeting you too.
