Check-up Week 2

I don't know about you, but Lap 2 has been the hardest lap yet (including our challenge in 2008!)! I am having a really hard time staying motivated, for quite a few reasons, the main one being the snow. Right now, as I am writing this, I am seeing the sunshine, which makes me want to go outside and run. Uplifting. If I am feeling unmotivated, I am sure you are too! At least some of you! So, this week....

1. Tell us your motivation for eating right and exercising. WHY are you doing this?

2. What was your greatest challenge this week?

3. What was your greatest victory this week?

4. Tell me one specific way you would like me to pray for YOU this week. I pray general prayers for weight loss, blessing, increased metabolism for some of you (you probably think I am weird, but yes I pray this way!). I love you all and want to see you succeed, so let me know exactly how to pray for you!!

Keep it up...this journey may be hard, but it is going to be SO
rewarding in the end!!

1. Tell us your motivation for eating right and exercising. WHY are you doing this? My motivation is short season coming up! I rarely ever wear any because I hate how large and in charge my thighs are! I want to look and feel good about myself in my clothes this summer.

2. What was your greatest challenge this week? Last week was definitely the night of the Kelly Pavlick fight. He is great friends of my brothers and some of his relatives mine so we always make a big deal about the fight and have like a free for all junk food eating fest. I actually controlled myself somewhat.

3. What was your greatest victory this week? not giving in and pigging out at work when I was training new hires and they were taste testing items from the menu.

4. Tell me one specific way you would like me to pray for YOU this week. I pray general prayers for weight loss, blessing, increased metabolism for some of you (you probably think I am weird, but yes I pray this way!). I love you all and want to see you succeed, so let me know exactly how to pray for you!! You can pray I don't go overboard eating this week. Lil Gary's Birthday was yesterday and then mine is Saturday. WE are having his party that day and I don't want to gorge on fattening food items. Especially Cake and Ice cream. Salad is one of our meal items so I want to focus on eating enough of that.

My weight this week 172.2 which is only down .4lbs but I will be happy about it it could be up .4lbs!

1. My motivation for eating right and exercising: Right now, my motivation is sanity. Seems funny, I know! These last few days of winter have been really tiring. I DO NOT want to exercise, but I ALWAYS feel better if I do!

2. My greatest challenge this week was Saturday. I was in the house all day because I was babysitting a friend's little boy. I WANTED to eat all day long, but restrained myself with the Lord's help. It really was a battle!

3. My greatest victory this week: This morning as I was headed out to the Y, Moriah woke up and I fed her until she fell asleep. Typically, I would have given up because I don't want her to wake Nate up, but I ran the stairs, did jumping jacks, and jumped rope...I only lasted a half hour, though. But, I sweat hard! I guess being innovative was my victory!!

4. Please pray for my desire to exercise! I have not been wanting to exercise and need to have the desire back, before winter is over. Once the sun is shining and it is warm outside, exercise will be a joy, but it is hard if it's so cold outside!!

Love you all...prayed for you while running the stairs today!!

1. My motivation for eating right & exercising are to get back on track. I've been terrible about my eating, gaining back 5 of my lost pounds. The whole idea of fitting into my clothes is good motivation, too!

2. My greatest challenge this past week was to eat healthy foods...I completely failed. But it's a new week, and I'm going to get back to the right way.

3. My greatest victory this past week was to continue to exercise even though the only thing I've wanted to do for a month is sleep.

4. Heather, you can pray for me that I make better food choices, and wiser portion sizes. I bought the food scale, maybe I'll even use it this week!

Have a great week everyone, good luck!

I am doing this because I want to be healthy. I want to feel good about myself, inside and out.

My biggest challenge this week was just getting through each day. Just like you Heather, I have had enough of this weather. I feel so tired and blah. It has been very difficult for me to stay focused.

My victory for the week was not gaining any weight. I'm still at 182. I think I have reached a plateau and I have to kick it up a notch. So that is what I plan to do for the next 6 days. I am off of work until next Wed., so I can get to the Y and exercise alot more.

1. I am doing this beacuse I have a great family that I want to be healthy for and I don't want my body image to stop me from having fun this summer. Oh yeah and I still want to fit my prebaby clothes.

2. My challenge this week is my mental health. My mom has a chronic lung diesease and gave us a scare this weekend. She really is much better because of alot of prayer and our good Lord. I too have very little motivation. I think the sun will do us all some good. I think that mental exhaustion turns into physical exhaustion (I hope I'm spelling that right).

3. My greatest victory this week was starting my vitamins that I ordered from Heather. I also exercised 3 times this week, once with Josh. I have not eaten any of the Girl Scout cookies, they've only been here for one day.

4. Heather, I need prayer for motivation. I also need prayer for peace that I am balancing all aspects of my life while putting the most emphasis on the most important areas. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with analyzing that I'm doing everything "right" or at least to the best of my abilities. Thinking about it sometimes interferes with doing.
Sorry that that was so wordy, that how I talk I guess :)

Erin- Welcome back :) missed reading your comments

Heather- You're not weird, you're loving. Way to multi task with the running and praying

Bobbie- We watched the fight too, its tempting with all the goodies around

Tawnya-Hope you guys all get better very soon. Even the fruit buying will get easier with the warmer weather with farmers markets and road side vendors

Elaine- Enjoy your vacation from work. Have fun at the Y

I wish us all a week of success however we may measure it.

1. I am doing this because I want to live a more healthy lifestyle so I can be around a long time for my beautiful wife and wonderful children plus guys like to look good in their clothes too!!

2. My challenge this week was seeing all those wonderful girl scout cookies that are sitting in the cupboard.

3. My victory this week was all those girl scout cookies are STILL sitting in the cupboard!! I admit, I did eat 2, but it could have been a lot worse. I stayed motivated and did not snack on them and also ran twice this week.

3. Heather, you can pray for me this week so I stay motivated and focused on the task at hand. I want to me more healthy for Amy. I'm excited about the chance to grow old with her and want to be around a long time so we can make that happen.

I'm sorry I am late again with my post. I noticed that I am the only guy here, but thats ok, I need this forum to stay accountable. Heather, thanks so much for all you do!!!
