Check-In Week 4

Lap 2 is coming to an end! So, it is time for our final check-in before lap 3 starts!

1. Tell us something that you accomplished during lap 2! Did you meet your goals?

2. Tell us something that you will accomplish in lap 3!

3. Is there someone who you'd like to invite to join you in Lap 3 of the Health Challenge?

I didn't give out any prizes for lap 1, but I think that was a terrible idea because prizes make the challenge more fun and it isn't fair to our latecomers if I only give out prizes at the end...sorry it took me so long to realize this! Bobbie blew us all out of the water in lap 1! Bobbie, look at my website and choose any product worth up to $91 retail and let me know what you'd like for your prize! Everything is all-natural and GREAT for you, so have fun looking! I am so sorry I didn't announce this sooner!

After this week's post, I will announce the winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd) for lap two!

Coming this week and in the weeks to come...

Motivational Mondays
Toning Up Tuesdays
Weigh-In Wednesdays
Thoughts from Healthy Pastor Thursdays
Foods I eat Friday
Get Clean Saturdays- this one is especially for Tawnya, all about a healthy home environment! I couldn't think of an alliteration!

1. This has been a rough week for me. I've gotten pretty discouraged. I'm still the same weight. My accomplishment this lap has been that I've started to build some healthy habits such as taking vitamins and I'm really trying to focus on drinking water. I was exercising before this week. I have not met my goals since I still don't fit my pants and haven't lost any weight.

2. I will maintain focus and use the healthy habits to lose some weight and hopefully get into my clothes.

3. I would like to invite my sister Maria to join you in Lap 3 of the Health Challenge, I think it could do her some good to have a positive outlet for her struggles.

I have a "funny" story. As you all know, I have a weakness for a very calorie overloaded drink at Gloria Jeans. I was at the mall this evening and debated in my head about getting one, I gave in. I took about 2 drinks as we were driving home. My $5.60 drink was nearly full when I got out of my car. I tried to carry too much into the house and somehow cracked the cup. I spilled the entire 32ounces or so. Kinda funny since I shouldn't have bought it except for the fact that it went IN my purse and all over me. Lesson learned :)

Sorry about not signing in. I've been so busy that I haven't been very focused on the challenge.

I haven't lost any weight, and with working since last Wed. I have exercised only once.

Last night at Family Night I was really bad. I had two helpings of the mac & cheese and a BLT with mayo. I have just not been very good about controling my portion sizes this past week. I went out to eat on Sat. night and I had 3 slices of Italian bread with butter plus a healthy portion of linguini with chicken & greens and a salad. Honestly, it was enough food for 3 meals when I am controling my portion size.

Carbs are my weakness and this past week proved it.

Hopefully I'll do better in the next Lap.

I got it- Swift Cleaning Saturdays since the products are designed to be so powerful that you can clean faster especially the Basic H that you can use all over the house.

Amy, I love the gloria jeans too!! The other day I really wanted one. I decided not to and spent the $6.00 on my whole dinner!!

Do we have 2 Amy's now? I am confused on who is who:-)

Heather, thanks for the Saturdays, I am looking forward to them!!

1. Tell us something that you accomplished during lap 2! Did you meet your goals?

I guess my goals is kind of general, just to live healthier one step at a time. I have been doing really good at taking my vitamins and drinking water. Still not doing good at exercising. The treadmills in the basement and I HATE going down there and I can't when Logans up and I don't like to get up early either, so still figuring that out.

2. Tell us something that you will accomplish in lap 3!
This lap I am going to work on portion sizes and eating healthier!!

3. Is there someone who you'd like to invite to join you in Lap 3 of the Health Challenge?
I keep pushing my sister too but she doesn't have internet. She may get dial up soon!!

Thanks, Everyone for posting!!!

Amy-
I am so sorry to hear about your coffee drink! Oh, that hurts! You're looking great and doing great...don't be too hard on yourself!!! You WILL lose the weight!

I like it, swift cleaning Saturdays!! Hehe!

Elaine- The mac n cheese was made with 2% velveeta, skim milk, and smart balance. Margaret made it!!
And, the BLT's only had two slices of bacon, so you really didn't do that bad!!! :) I am so glad that you are still on the journey! Keep going!!

Tawnya- Did the eraser work?
I am so happy that one step at a time, you're making healthier choices...it feels good, doesn't it?? :-)

I am so proud of you all!!

1. Something that I accomplished...I have been drinking a lot of water!!!
My weight continues to fluctuate between 120-123. I am okay with that, I just really want to focus on exercising consistently and eating the right foods.

2. For lap 3, I really want to focus on the "Power Foods" and stay away from simple carbs!
I also want to feel motivated to write inspiring posts for all of you. I have been really bogged down and haven't focused on writing much and I am sorry! I want to see you all to the end of your goals!! Thank you for your help and direction on where I should go! Maybe I am taking it too seriously, but that is my personality! :-) I care so deeply for all of you! You take the time to get on and read and I want it to be meaningful to you.

3. Someone I'd like to invite? I think I have pretty much invited everyone I know! :) My hubby joined this time and that has made me very happy!

Well better late than never, right? I've been spring cleaning and trying not to eat everything that isn't nailed down the past few days! :)
1. Something I've accomplished on this lap...not eating sweets.
2. For Lap 3 I really want to focus on my portion control (I sound like a broken record; maybe one day I'll figure it out!) and adding more fruits/ veggies & fewer carbs.
3. I keep trying totalk my mom into joining the challenge, but we'll see...
Have a great weekend everyone!

OK so had a rough week here for me too! My brother in law passed away and things are just a mess. HUGE MESS! No real excuse though, maybe should be my motivation to really take care of myself he was only 50!

1. SO victory for me last weeks weight 174.8 this weeks weight 174.8 I maintained which means I didn't actually over eat which is a good thing. However, I am refocused and on my road to weight loss again.

2. Lap 3? I will lose 8 more pounds! I will definitely focus on exersising more!

3. I hav asked all the mom's in our playgroup but they have their own little thing going! I think I may ask my dad to join. He is an extremely obese man, and really could use positive talk to keep him frm over eating and at least doing the exercises his Physical Therapist tells him to do!

I will weigh 166.8 by END of LAP 3!

Amy, want to hit the pavement for a walk some nights we can organize nights that are good and I will meet you at your house. Let's get teh families together for some healthy cookouts too.

Oh Boy I won a prize I didn't even realize I had I was trying to just be so focused on losing and getting back to healthy! Going to check out products woohoo!!! HAVE HEALTHY FABULOUS WEEK ALL!

I joined the challenge a little late...and it took me a week to get going...but my "victory" has been to start working out again. My goal is to get back in enough shape to run on the track this summer. I can't divulge too many specific details because my brother reads this blog (i think?) and I don't want him to know how badly I am going to smoke him if we race this summer! I have worked out several times in the last week, though, and it feels real good to be physically active again...though Tuesday I thought my hips were broken...the day after my first big run in probably a year!

Josh, I'm getting ready for a mile or so on the track...as soon as the weather warms a bit.

My goal for this lap was to lose some weight. Unfortunately I am still at the same weight when this lap started. The good news is that I have not gained any weight either and have done a better job of exercising more often. I could do a better job, but at least its a start.

I haven't worked out this past week as my slight medical issue has flared up quite a bit. Say an extra prayer for me as I go see a surgeon next thursday. Once we get this taken care of I hope to get back on track.

Nate, I hope to get back on track and am looking forward to our weekly runs.

My goal for this lap was to gain 6 pounds and decrease my body fat percentage to 7%. I weighed in at the doctor today and despite drinking my daily weight gainer shakes I have managed to drop 2 pounds since the challenge started. Possibly not a bad thing though if my body comp. fell. I will be testing it sometime this weekend to see where i'm at.

I have still had some setbacks with my exercise intensity. Due to lingering medical issues I must keep my heart rate down, but hopefully that stipulation will be lifted soon. Apparently I have a race this summer, but regardless, that shouldn't require too high a fitness level to win.

One person I would like to see in the challenge is Isaiah Doyle, He was getting pretty hard to lift last time I saw him.

Isaiah ran pretty fast on the track today at the Y. You should have seen him! It was so cute!!
