Is Your Body Inflamed?

I know, it may sound like a weird question, but inflammation in our bodies is linked to

  • inability to lose weight

  • inability to fight off sickness

  • any form of arthritis

  • allergies

  • moodiness

  • joint & muscle pain

  • ADD/ ADHD

  • Alzheimer's

  • depression...

And the list goes on and on! Oh, and get this, inflammation in our body is linked to aging, too. When our bodies are inflamed, they just don't work right...they are unable to fight off sickness AND not able to lose weight!

Here are some researched ways I found to fight off inflammation:

1. Drink LOTS of water...nothing else-not tea, coffee, etc.- fights off inflammation and flushes out fat like water. I know it's going to be really hard to drink alot of water during this winter season, but we must drink alot of water if we're going to be healthy and lose weight.

2. Keep your gums healthy- fight gum diseases such as Gingivitis and reduce overall body inflammation. I rinse with Peroxide and it works great! Of course, I don't swallow!

3. Exercise regularly- gets that blood flowing and the toxins out!

4. Take a good multivitamin, but be picky when choosing- look for a vitamin without any fillers such as silica (sand), etc. And make sure it has 100% Biotin, which is a B vitamin that's needed for the production of energy. It also helps with the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Basically, we women need it!

5. Watch your intake of unhealthy carbs and sugars. Simple carbs, such as white flour, sugar, etc. actually act like a poison to an inflamed body. Cut back on those and you cut back on the inflammation! Look for healthy choices, such as 100% whole wheat bread, and anything with alot of grains! :) Read Lick the Sugar Habit for more information on the drawbacks of sugar! READ THE LABELS AND WATCH OUT FOR HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP!!

6. Add Essential Fatty Acids to your diet. Since it is omega-3 fatty acids that are in shortest supply in our modern diet, it's recommend you take an Omega 3 supplement to your diet. This is one of the simplest yet most important steps you can take to stop chronic inflammation in your body.

Include a small handful of nuts and seeds in your diet daily, especially walnuts and freshly ground flaxseed, which are good sources of omega-3’s.

Some practitioners also recommend adding an omega-6 supplement called gamma linolenic acid, or GLA, if you have rheumatoid arthritis.

For cooking purposes the oil of choice is grapeseed oil, and for dressings it’s olive oil, which is high in oleic acid, an omega-9 with anti-inflammatory properties. But, if you don't have grapeseed oil use Canola Oil...it's just as good as Olive Oil! (Oh, and a side note...don't fry with Olive Oil because once it gets to a certain temperature it loses its healthiness! I'll type more on this later!!)

I called my mom last night after reading Lori's post and asked my beautiful, 50-year-old mother what advice I should give Lori. She said to talk to her about Inflammation. My mom lost all of her after 40 baby weight within the last couple of years and my dad recently lost 70 pounds...they both look so great and are so healthy! They are always talking to me about inflammation and I hope this info will be helpful to all of you. Since she didn't get on to type up this post, then I had to!! :) Love you, Mom!

Lord God I will shout for joy when You make me victorious, and I will lift up a banner in the name of my God! Psalm 20:5
Satan, the ultimate thief, comes only to steal and kill and destroy; You came so that I could have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10
I just wanted to praise God this Sunday morning for all the wonderful thing He's placed in my life. I think I'm getting to wrapped up in losing and forgetting all the wonderful things He's placed in my Life. He has given me a wonderful loving husband and four beautiful childern. One who is having the time of his life right now with our heavenly Father. I have a great church with a super preacher who never fails to give us God's word every Sunday. A loving, caring, smart, and beuatiful wife to help him carry the load. And a great church family who is alway there especially in the most difficult times in our life. I can't forget a warm cup of coffee in a warm house on this very cold morning.
Well I have to run ignore any miss spelled words or run on sentences I'm in a hurry and Dan is rushing me to get ready for church. I hope everyone has a wonderful day in the Lord. God Bless Lori

Lori,

Happy birthday Caleb! When we were singing today we sang the phrase "Im forever grateful that you came to seek and save the lost." Obviously the song is speaking of our Lord, but I was struck by the thought that that was Calebs mission too... through his homecoming he sought out the lost and they have come to know His father who is with face to face...A precious innocent boy with such a powerful legacy...I love you Lori, I pray that today was joyful in the knowledge that your precious one is in the hands of the One who made him...Thank you taking care of Drew today...You always go above and beyond the call!!!! God Bless you!!!!!
