We've already set our New Year's Resolutions, so this may sound like a repetitive question, but it is a great question to think about daily! My answer is gratefulness. I want to live in a grateful state. For me, that will revolutionize how I view life and am a witness for Christ.
The other night Nate had a late meeting, praise team practice and was going to watch the football game at church with a few of the guys. So, I was going to be alone for a long time which made me pack up the kids and go to the mall for a walk and play time in the food court area! I had some time to myself to think about some of the great things in my life, which I often take for granted...
My husband's job...some people think it would be the worst job ever, but I love Nate being a pastor!
Having two kids close in age...we have alot of fun!
My parents still being alive and healthy...this isn't something I think about until someone close to me has parents pass away!
My parents still being alive and healthy...this isn't something I think about until someone close to me has parents pass away!
My own health...I can walk, run, play with my children, breathe- what a joy it is to have health! My car...it's not new and not an SUV, but it works and it looks decent...
Honestly, the list goes on and on! No matter what storms are going on in our lives, I can find something to be grateful for every minute of every day! So, this is something that I am continually working on and asking God to help me with! If I ever seem like a broken record, it is because I still haven't learned my lesson. God is continually reminding me to be grateful.
God has destined great things to happen this year...how is this year going to be BETTER than the last?
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Ladies, in the midst of the storm, He is there for each one of us. It may not feel like it, but looking back we'll be able to see His hand guiding us. Keep pressing forward. I am so proud of each one of you.

I too have many things to be thankful for. My handsome husband, my goofy son and growing daughter, extended family, church family, my own health, and my dog are just a few to mention. Another that has been on the forefront of my mind lately is my job. As much as I didn't want to go back to work after my maternity leave, I am thankful to have a job especially one that has health insurance for myself and my family. I don't hate my job either although it has its days, overall I like my position. For those of you who don't know I am a director at a halfway house with offenders who have recently been released from prison. Its interesting to say the least :) Many people in this economy are losing their jobs and even some I personally know so I am thankful for my job.
I too am thankful for my job, Amy! I didn't post that on the blog, but I am! I love having a job where, during this time, I can choose to work just a few hours and take Isaiah with me. I also LOVE everyone I work with!
Yes, and the snow! It is so beautiful. Today while Nate is putting in new flooring in our house, I went out and shoveled for about two hours. It was alot of fun and very peaceful! I prayed for each one of you while I was shoveling. I feel very strong now! It was my exercise for the day!
See, once we get started being thankful, it is hard to stop!!
I am thankful for so many things. I have my health back and I feel great. I have a wonderful daughter who is the most special person in the world to me. God have provided for me over the last three years, and HE has given me a peace that is beyond description.
I always say that I hate the snow, and that I hate the winter cold weather. But I have been enlightened watching it snow today. It was absolutely beautiful. So I am going to amend my original feelings...I love the snow (I just don't like driving in it), and I prefer warm weather to cold.
Blessings to you all.
You're doing and looking so great, Elaine! Go you! I am so glad that you're feeling well and happy with the snow. I hate driving in it as well.
Cindy- I haven't mentioned to you that I am so glad that you've joined the challenge! Let us know how the cleanse is going! I,too, think you have a great smile! Isaiah had a blast with you and Tom a couple of weeks ago!
Lori- I was thinking about you as I was shoveling the snow. Nate said you picked a great weekend to get away. I hope you come home a bit refreshed. I am praying Joshie sleeps for you!
Hi ladies,
Like everyone I am thankful for so many things...my husband who I love more and more with each passing day, his job even though its been rough for him lately, my sons and although we have some issues, they all have a heart for the Lord at a young age... my grandparents still being here and all of my family and friends, my church and sooo much more.
