Week 3 Check-in

Okay, you've made it to week three! Woo hoo! Even if you don't feel like you've come very far, you have continued to post, you're continuing to see changes take place . If you "fell off the horse", you've gotten back on. So, that deserves a celebration! Go you!!
Now, tell us what is going on this week:

1. Did you meet your goal this week?
2. What was your greatest challenge this week?
3. What was your greatest victory this week? Doesn't have to be food or weight related!
4. Why are you doing this challenge?
It isn't easy, I know, but everytime we stop and think about WHY we're putting ourselves through this "re-training", it will help us re-focus. Is it health? The upcoming swimsuit season? Do you want to feel stronger? What is driving you?
5. Have you been following your emergency plan?

1. Did you meet your goal this week? I don't really have a specific weekly goal
2. What was your greatest challenge this week? Making wise decisions
3. What was your greatest victory this week? Doesn't have to be food or weight related! Last night instead of eating chocolate I had 100 calorie rice cakes. This morning I am going to make some oatmeal for breakfast instead of my usually frosted mini wheats or egg sandwich with cheese
4. Why are you doing this challenge?
I just want to feel better about myself and feel better myself:-) I want to feel better about my physical body and be more energized and healthier.
5. Have you been following your emergency plan? Haven't really needed it yet

1. Did you meet your goal this week? I did! Last weeks weight 179 this weeks weight 178! Another lb gone! I knew it would slow down and my weekly goal is a .5 - 2lbs loss! So I am very happy with my 1lb loss!
2. What was your greatest challenge this week? Not eating anything fattening at work. I was craving ice cream really bad too and just opted for a yogurt!
3. What was your greatest victory this week? My mom was over saturday night to play scrabble while Big Gary went out with his brothers. She brought over a bag full of junk food and I had 100 cal packs instead!
4. Why are you doing this challenge?
This is so many reasons! Although one of them is to look good! My biggest reasons are the health of it! My father is an extremely obese man and has struggled for teh past few years terribly! He had cancer and almost died and his weight really hasn't helped his lymphadema! I want to be here for children and when they marry and have children!
5. Have you been following your emergency plan? I really have! There was cake at work the other night and it didn't even look that good but I wanted it the devil was really in my head telling me it woudl be ok to eat the cake! I know that the devil is a liar and that cake would not taste that great.

Hi Everyone,
Tawnya and Bobbie, way to go! It's so hard making wise decisions about food--you rock!
1. I didn't meet my goal this week; I didn't lose any weight...although I didn't gain!
2. My greatest challenge was to make wise food decisions, and I have to say, I failed miserably. I've got to implement my emergency plan as soon as I finish posting and get back in gear!
3. My greatest victory this week is not food related. Life and God have been so good to me, and I've taken the time to enjoy and appreciate it all.
4. I'm doing this challenge to be healthy, set a good example for my girls and fit into my pre baby clothes.
5. I haven't followed my emergency plan, but I'm going back to re-read it right now and get back on the horse!
Good luck in the upcoming week.

1. I didn't meet my goal. Last week I lost 2lbs this week I gained it back. THis seems to be my story.
2.My greatest challenge was snacking on the wrong things.
3. My greatest victory this week was exercising 6 days.
4. I'm doing this challenge to become more healthy and maybe take off some pounds that will stay off.
5. I just followed my emergency plan. I could just eat everything in sight. I was doing dishes and thought about snacking on something but instead got on the computer.
It's nice to see everyone is making strides in one area or another. Have a great day everyone.

I weighed myself on Mon. to see where I stood. I was 183lbs. Down 2lbs! But, when I got on the scale this morning, I was back to 185. Bummer. So this is a new week, and I have to try harder.

I am doing so many things differently there are too many to mention. All in all I feel so much better about what I have been eating, but exercising 2 days a week is not enough. I have to start going to the Y in the evening after work. It's just been so cold, I hate going out when I get home from work.

This past weekend I worked at the Dog Agility Center. There are always donuts, muffins and other treats to eat and usually lunch is very good, but alot of carbs. (Mac & cheese...Cheesy potatoes). So that was my biggest challenge. The victory was that I had a bowl of soup, a salad w/plain roll, yogurt & a 100 calorie pack of cookies. And I drank 2 bottles of water during the day. What was such a blessing was the Janet never has stuff like that. I truely believe that God was taking care of me.

I am doing this challenge because I need a challenge. I have a goal and with God's help I will accomplish it.

Hi, girls! What a week this has been! It has been so nice to read your ups and downs this week. Thank you all for sharing! I have been praying for each one of you individually this week and yay for the victories! Remember that even the times when we "fall", we can learn great things!

Oh, girls, this has been a REALLY tough week. I haven't wanted to exercise, I haven't wanted to eat right. All I want to do is run away to a secluded island somewhere! :) But, of course, i know this isn't the answer!! Tonight, after church, and time with my Kid's Club kiddos, I am feeling so much better. I am feeling like I want to get up and exercise in the morning. So, here are my answers...

1. I didn't lose any weight this week, but I didn't gain either!!
2. My greatest challenge this week was NOT eating EVERYTHING in sight. I wanted to snack all day long...most days this last week. Also, I didn't want to exercise.
3. My greatest victory this week was I didn't eat everything in sight, instead I focused on why I am not eating everything, but still allowed myself a splurge here and there! And, I focused on all of the great blessings I have in my life. Not having hot water the last few days has made me so grateful for the little things. I am so spoiled having hot water!
4. I am doing this challenge for the acountability with other women, but also because i want to be healthy and enjoy my prebaby clothes!
5. I am going to review my emergency plan and follow it this week!

Elaine- This actually happens to me alot. My weight fluctuates ALL of the time. If I drink a lot of water the night before, if I haven't gone to the bathroom yet, if my period is coming up, etc. There are so many reasons why your body weight fluctuates. Don't worry about a 2 pound gain. Focus on the Monday number! You are doing great and looking great. That orange sweater was a knockout tonight!! Yay on your success this weekend! it is going to pay off in the end!

Lori-keep exercising..eventually, it is going to come off and stay off. You're doing all the right things. Drink more water, too!!

Heather is really pushing this water thing isn't she! Ha we know she means well :)
1. I don't necessarily have a weekly goal just the same as the overall goals-eat right and exercise
2. My greatest challenge this week has been my emotions. I've found out a few things that will drastically change the lives of a few family members. My husband's cousins had a baby on Saturday and all early tests seem like he has Down's Syndrome and my sister is going through a personal loss and I can't fix it. I really hate that she's hurting and pray that she finds peace in the situation. I have also felt really run down and only exercised once.
3. My greatest victory this week is being thankful for the health of my children and not taking that for granted. I also lost 2 pounds according to the scale this morning.
4. Why are you doing this challenge? I enjoy having positive women (and men soon) to "talk" to about not only health and weight but other issues too. I also appreciate the information posted on new ways to get and stay feeling our best. I still really want to fit my pants and gain energy.
5.I have been getting on this blog and reading and posting.
WOW this is a long winded post and I'm not done :) I'm really inspired by all the victories this week
Lori-6 times? Did you find time to sleep?
Tawnya,Bobbie, and Elaine-you gals are pretty strong to avoid such temptations especially this week when its been so cold and "comfort" food would taste so good. I passed up a really good looking brownie this afternoon. Yeah me.
Heather-Your ability to smile this week and find the positives is a true testament to who you are. Thanks for always being there to talk.
GOOD LUCK IN THE NEXT WEEK!! Even though I don't usually set weekly goals, I really want and need to get more exercise in this week.

Erin-Didn't mean to leave you out. Just maintaining your weight is a victory especially if you've been cheating :) I have too but not too bad. It would be nice for those of us who live close to meet up at some point in this challenge. It would be nice to put a face to the names.

Bobbie said...

I thinking meeting would be a great idea too! Where is everyone from?

I have thought the same thing. Put a face with the names:-)

Girls, What a great idea! :) Would you like to have a "Healthy" party at someone's house, or meet at Caribou (my favorite coffee shop)? Let me know!

Everyone except Gretchen (my mom in Arizona) and Jaime are local!
